In fact, I do not know how to define my impression ... Let's start with the negatives to finish on a positive note. What puzzled me is the text when drawing me totally seduced. I would not speak of disappointment but rather surprise. The story begins like a fairy tale and the constant reference to the English folk tale "Jack and the Beanstalk" puts us on familiar ground. The chapters are linked as you would expect and the reading seems so comfortable. And until the 59th page ... Here, as the text indicates, "... a terrible tragedy happened ..." And we plunge from page 60 in another story! What was previously a tale altogether traditional, becomes a teen drama. I can not tell you more suspense to spare, but the change of atmosphere I was totally distraught. And then fills my disappointment, the first volume ends !!! I rush to my favorite online bookstore to order more ... nothing !!! The second volume is not published. Looking on the net, especially on the blog Guillaume Bianco. Well nothing seems currently scheduled. I remain on my hunger, and I hate to stay on my hunger! To conclude on this aspect of the album, I would point out though that it was not aimed at children, but teens and adults. And yet, teenagers ... it will see more to be convinced.
The drawings now ... From this point of view, it's simply great art. I love! The illustrations are very rich, full of details that I like: it never tires of searching each of the drawings. The colors are beautiful, bleak. The greens and purples are splendid. The cover is very successful. In short, the pencil stroke Jeremy Almanza, young designer, conquered me. I look forward to following the Eco adventures.
