. With their first joint album, BB King and Eric Clapton have a (long overdue) "lifelong dream" fulfilled the title of the album, "Riding With The King" makes sense: Most of the 12 songs are namely Kings repertoire, the "Slowhand" Clapton appreciating as his personal hero called. And yet the album is certainly not misunderstand as a tribute Clapton to the living legend of the blues. With typical songs such as "Ten Long Years" or "Days Of Old", which makes me strong . recalls the "porridge Banana Blues" served "Riding With The King", not going on enough primarily followers of conventional Blues whom this is too straight, is on this disc have rather little joy; especially songs of this kind abound can be found on almost any conventional blues album. Only the guitar solos in long-known Clapton- / King-style, here of course is a special feature. Meanwhile bring a change "Marry You" and "I Wanna Be", and also the revision of some already umpteen times gecoverten "Hold On I'm Coming," "Come Rain Or Come Shine" and "Help The Poor" are more or less well done. Even the title track can not be mistaken - as well as "When My Heart Beats Like A Hammer", which excels a little out of the blues monotony As a longtime admirer of the old masters I had of this album, however, much more awaits..
