The handle to the MX 455 is probably due to the following points:
+ Operation of the software. (My neighbor is computer illiterate and therefore the Canon software for scanning software used)
+ No piano black finish
+ Scanner edition also allows thicker templates, such as books (The lid lifts to good 10mm and includes therefore well off ...)
+ Good collection for multiple templates (30 sheets but I have not tried)
+ Wireless Setup relatively straightforward
+ No separate print head (made for me by the time a real option for multiple disappointment with Canon and Epson ...)
What is not good, or bad:
- Consumption. But that Canon indeed every year so made aware. XL cartridges are a must, priced just so fine.
- Outrageous frequent cleaning. - Do not be, I see on the other hand my simple HP 3050A, the heralds downright "Swabian" states.
- No separate paper tray as the MP 610, no rear path for thick media especially.
- Processing has declined, but that affects many manufacturers and higher price ranges.
- The Spartan display that still does its job after a short time.
- Print ready after switching on and when the device is already on. - That could be faster, but Canon wanted it that way over the years.
- Rickety cartridge holder. - My cheaper HP says hello.
- No single tank for the ink, no quality printhead.
For FAX I can not say anything.
The print quality is relatively good, but again, no peaks. - The print head alignment is similar to HP, a scan of the printed values. - Sheet with the values placed on the scanner glass, lid on scan, done. - Why can not expect top Kallibirierung. Can not tell if this would also manually via the PC software, because I have no setting found until now.
Conclusion: For the money you get no office equipment, since the cartridge range is this too modest. - We are talking about 600 pages B / W (XL-cartridge) ideally. - Slightly more than the HP 301 XL S / W cartridges that cost the same and bring it to a maximum of almost 400 pages.
The extent to which the fax function is an extra value, everyone must decide for themselves.
Also, I really think the MX 455 is not for a printer that is suitable for frequent photo printing: A three-chamber cartridge and a disposable print head, no, because there are better options.
For color presentations, the device is very useful, and also for the one or other photo for fun.
In the end 3-4 star. - For my neighbors absolutely useful, I still make a bow to current Canons.
