Some negative reviews I can not confirm. In my personal opinion is to find the problem in the manual: it is mounted on the narrow sides of the cardboard and a bit small and not very detailed. A swift, practiced craftsmen comes with such a manual certainly cope.
At this point I give buyers a little support in the assembly: In the rectangular plate must first put the screw through and both sides together are inserted into the respective Absenkscharnier (!). Finally, the rectangular plastic frame comes on the Schanierunterseite. The order of the washers can be seen not good because of the poor in detail instructions. A skilled person knows that the first large washer and then the smaller metallic washer is mounted. After that, the small plastic spacer is inserted into the screw which presses that flattened end to the washers. Finally, the nut is pressed in the thumbscrew. This allows the toilet seat along with Absenkscharniere tighten the screw.
The toilet seat should be only slightly fastened at the beginning, so that both hinges are aligned. Everything fits as desired and as shown on the instructions, the toilet seat can be locked properly. Suffice it when the toilet seat is standard-locked firmly, rock solid in my opinion is too much of a good thing.
The toilet seat should not be depressed by force or pressure, a fast lifting or opening is likely to lead to a shortened life of the soft close.
