The 110 g package contents are in an unappealing blue and quite sober 90s design, but constitutes a fairly thick-walled bag. The blue of the pack suggests somehow a "light product", although there is none. With a total of 480 kcal / 100g calories while about 80 kcal less than the classic Chio chips, and about half of fat (17g / 100g instead of 35g / 100g). For carbohydrates 68g / 20g more 100g- so good / 100g than potato chips.
From the smell in the bag, which feels quite restrained, almost sterile-dry, a corn / tortilla flavor gives an idea. If you breathe a little stronger, you almost feel short remains an off the air. First impression: rather unpleasant.
When picking out a Popcorners from the bag an ultrafine salt / spice covering as abrasive sand from sticking to your fingers. The first taste sensation: "dry" - reminiscent of virgin polystyrene with corn or tortilla flavor; finish a strong, slightly dusty saltiness.
The pack text promises "no artificial flavor enhancers" - soothing. Yet one feels despite the dusty consistency the urge to try one farther Popcorners. Maybe because it's hard, the predominant flavor (salt or salt ?, corn or corn? ..) Herauszuschmecken. The dryness requires the latest after two to three Popcorners a rinsing liquid. If I were a bar owner, I would ask Popcorners free on every table. But I'm not, and I will probably not become a loyal customer ...
Nice idea, but I'll grab either popcorn or (tortilla) chips.
