Maybe I had just double misfortune may be. Experience with the GoPro "customer service" but are so devastating that it should be enough to review.
The first copy of 11/2013 had known focus error and inclusions in the lens. Amazon Returns was the first step. One day later, then a password reminder from Amazon Customer Service that the situation described by me return reason is known you recommend me GoPro directly to contact. Tip to the CS: in the discrepancy between Amazon and GoPro service level should revise this possibly.
A first call for GoPro took place, the tomboyish answer was all nonsense, there is no series faults, the CS employees have a cam from 09/2013, all propaganda. I should send in pictures, so that the defect can be verified. Said and done. It took about a week until after insisting finally came the answer, yes my camera was broken and would be picked up by DHL. That was a plus.
After another week of silence in the woods, a tracking processing is not possible.
As last week finally (without comment) a spare camera is then arrived with me, the joy was only great. Then see that you send me a 10 / 2013er copy can. Again were - albeit smaller - inclusions in the lens available. Well, I wanted to do test shots and what happened? The camera switched after a second recording automatically. When trying to load the camera, the corresponding red LED lit up a few seconds and then it went out. With different charging options and various original batteries the same game. The fact that you can replace a defective camera recognized with another model Monday, is in this price range in my opinion, simply unacceptable. One gets the impression that such cases are taken as collateral damage in purchasing.
My renewed complaint was made last Thursday, since once again no response from GoPro.
A functioning GoPro is certainly tip top, probably the one caught. At the risk of being left alone by the manufacturer at such defects, I can not recommend buying at present.

Update 1 from 02.25.2014: until noon today again no answer to my case. I called the hotline and gave my case number by. The lady replied that uh yes I see already ah yes, the colleague is already tuned. A further reply was not to elicit her. I would get soon an answer to my case. After two requests then: yes today! (Audible annoyed)
Behold, 20 minutes after the call actually came an answer and that following. The camera would probably why go out for a second movie recording because the memory card is full. Below is a description of how to format an SD card. Previously, several detailed error descriptions, for example, the camera, the battery is not charging even after more than 24 hours were not mentioned at all.
Well, I have a further summary of the technical defects sent in response and I am curious how it goes. I'm afraid to 5 stars, it is not enough, I should keep even a perfectly functioning Cam in the hands ...

Update 2 from 3.3.2014: renewed call for absence of any reply to emails. The GoPro lady tried to explain to me that I would be the camera not load properly. My explanation that - no matter what loading method I use - the camera does not charge the batteries, meant that I had to listen to me, I would still just excuses. Uff. There was a veritable debate and with the customer service of the market leader. I had to be quite clear to me was finally agreed to swap the camera once again. One can not convey that the failure of Cam was not a mistake, therefore, one would come to meet me once again exceptionally me apparently. So now the October 2013er Cam was picked up again yesterday. If unexpected GoPro employees here read along: so you do not go around with clients.

Update 3 from 07.27.2014: after ten days now arrived at the second exchange camera. My express wish to obtain a produced in 2014 model I was a bit "surprised" to see the exchange Cam the date of manufacture 09/2013. But then clear. Finally, the camera works as I have wished. Produces sharp images and can be properly load. Incidentally, with exactly the same cables and laptops that I could not even operate correctly according GoPro lady with exchange model.
Preliminary Conclusions. Certainly one of the best Action Cams at the moment. However, it remains more than a stale aftertaste and concern before the next Service Marathon, the camera should ever any mistakes. 2.51 stars.
