CD, silent, high capacity. Once the drive formatted in FAT 32 (universal platform Mac / Windows) and rid of its alleged control software that I find perfectly parasites, we are dealing with a conventional hard drive, Lacie style mains powered and connected to computer by USB 2, but high-capacity one. Having transferred over 130 VIDEO_TS folders (which form the content of commercial DVDs), each about 6.8 GB, I found that reading the computer screen or TV via HDMI cord removal PC-TV, is without fault, using VLC player as VIDEO_TS folders. An internal fan cools the hard disk, which I have not seen any significant temperature rise in employment. Overall, I find this hard drive 2TB completely satisfactory in the great tradition of the brand Lacie whom I have learned to have confidence (the 6th Lacie hard drive I have now - some find that there is here the collectionnite in air lol -. but the first for me in terms of 'terabytes' capacity for storing VIDEO_TS folders, ie the level of video quality of trade movies ).
I note in passing that there is no need to worry about 'breaking authorizations' (via Mac The Ripper, for example, copying a VIDEO_TS folder on a hard disk automatically by the computer channel as long as one does not try to burn a DVD bis), or 'ethics' (as there is here a private use to business purpose without producing a VIDEO_TS folder on hard disk staff not being treated as a physical property competing commercial DVD: anyone has the right to transfer the video file of a DVD on a personal hard drive, where it only exists as a subject of both virtual and for the simple use of the holder). Also, nothing is easier than using a DD as Lacie 2TB to store the equivalent of 300 DVDs.
