One can concede that writing is pleasant, clear, sometimes poetic, and the structure of the novel is neat. Unfortunately, the plot is built on a series of photographs, a sequence of events or actions so big it does not. It is not up to the old monk of the end of the novel that corresponds to a stereotype. The novelist had found a nice idea with the theme of amnesia, but she has nothing convincing. No depth, nor morality, nor philosophical, even psychological. Just this book he could interest young readers, undemanding. Can we speak of descent from the end of Nazi Germany, concentration camps, in a novel who plays tale, without missing out on? "Magnus" only scratches therefore these subjects. If the purpose is to say that the Nazis were evil and that the main character is not lucky in life, we are well advanced. "Magnus" pushes open doors. What a disappointment!
