I really wanted to have the Yamaha RX-V471, but have then decided on the Denon AVR1612. Firstly, this device is here on Amazon 60 Euro cheaper, on the other hand offers Denon of registering a third year warranty. So I have after the receiver was there, built and calibrated a good piece in my living room. This can take place for up to six different positions, resulting in a wonderful surround sound developed. However, I had to directly find a major shortcoming in the first film. (- Scene 9 The Lion King) in dynamic, sometimes louder scenes, the voices from the center are so low that they are no longer understood. That was not so in the old system. So I instead of the Bluray DVD inserted with which the problem was not encountered and lo and behold, the problem was still there. So I have all the cables, the Blurayplayer, the speaker cables and the speaker exchanged, without achieving an improvement. As the sound is picked up in front of the TV, so the receiver must be the problem. No setting could help you and also the Denonsupport knew no solution other than a reset. Since this brought no improvement, I suspected an error in the device and replaced it. However, the replacement had the same symptoms. Out of desperation, I have but then bought the Yamaha and here was the problem. After much back and forth I arrived that the cut of my living room and it lays furniture must have something to do with it (a friend, which the Denon has had these problems). I could at Yamaha after calibration still all levels etc. vary what has then spawned a class for me sound without these errors. What can the Yamaha, Denon is unlikely to be a problem for well and I now knows how it goes, I have built up the Denon again. Yes, he actually level settings for the speakers. However, only for the front-left and front-right speakers, and subwoofer. Exactly the center can not be set. In addition, the settings for each Dolby playback should be made individually and not to copy (or I have simply not found). Ever many adjustment possibilities are there, but not selectable. The complete menu and the settings are anything but intuitive and really only kundenunfreundlich. Too bad, because the sound and Sourroundgefühl were so overwhelming that I had alongside price and warranty actually three good reasons for the Denon here. However, if the sound (and that is what is important) can not be played properly, everything else is useless. I'm staying now anyway but my first choice - the Yamaha.
Addendum: In the course of discussion to me a possible solution to my problem was called by user Greg777. Unfortunately, I can not verify this, but it would not deprive the reader. Volume of each speaker: System setup> Speaker Setup> Channel Level> Test Tone Start
Update: I bought another Denon receiver because of the discussion history. When unpacking, I realized that there had to be another batch. So the tape were significantly stronger than in the first two devices and here the setup microphone was housed in the styrofoam packaging and not just glued to the receiver. With the connections I now exercise and could now do quite quickly. After recording, I had the problem with too soft dialogues again, but had at hand of the user Greg777 approach. Net interest sake I pushed However, once on the RC buttons 'AMP' (for receiver control) and 'CHG Level' (for speaker setup), as it was described in the instructions. Oh wonder, now I had also listed all the speakers and could make the level settings. That too was done quickly for a first basic setting and I was blown away by the sound. Clear, fine tuning has then taken a little more time, but I now have the receiver with all the relevant advantages for me.
The fact that it now works immediately (with the same procedure as for the others), but then leaves me a little hope that we have not hired me too stupid. Whether the devices now have only another firmware, it's a different batch or it has located at cosmic rays, I now can not say, but since the unit is working and I am fully satisfied, I'll get my vote from two to four stars increase. Fifth I have to be retained yet because I'm still not quite as mature find the menu, as for example the Yamaha is the case. Surely that's personal taste, but here it's all about a personal evaluation.
Last but not least; Thanks Amazon that you have been through with me the whole back and forth and have everything handled quickly and easily, both also in the delivery, as well as the reversal. Thank you!
