I can only recommend the Eneloop batteries both in the standard version, and in the XX version! I ordered the Eneloops on Amazon.com and thereby get the latest, improved version HR 3UWXB instead of HR 3UWXA. The newer "B" version has an even lower self-discharge and a little more capacity.
