I had the ML-L3 ordered for my D5000. In the D5000 manual is mentioned explicitly, the ML-L3. For still image shooting, the ML-L3 is working fine, there are problems, however, with the remote control in the "old gray-yellow box" if you want to use the long exposure. First press the remote control opens the shutter, the second click should close the shutter of the camera according to the manual again. With the "old" ML-L3 but the closure is not only closed, but opens again immediately. The ML-L3 in black and gold cardboard do not have this problem. The problems could be confirmed by other persons. Affected is next to the D5000 and the D90. The D40 seems to be not affected by the issue. About problems with other cameras I know nothing, but should be tested immediately in case of an order.
Are to recognize the "bad" Fernbedinungen in mind that the IR diode emits a portion of the visible red light. In the ML-L3 that work, you can see no red light when triggered.
Unfortunately, the seller does not respond to my defects. Very unfortunate. For me the purchase was no "good deal" ...
Update: In the meantime, the seller has the ML-L3 withdrawn and refunded me the sale price, including postage.. Why this has worked only after the third letter and the extract from the Civil Code, the mystery remains.
