I've tried it with carrots. After one use the thing is only rum in the cupboard. It is really very difficult. It seems to me as if not before the blade sharp enough. It is very difficult to keep the carrot while the julienne peeler attracts over it. Once it is a bit narrow, it is virtually impossible to keep the carrot reasonable. The holding end breaks rather from before you could peel because it just is not reasonable cuts and you have to pull hard. I prefer to use my normal peeler and peel the carrots completely. This then results in true 'Bandnundeln' and no 'spaghetti'. But go a thousand times easier and faster.
