I use the lens on a EOS 500D (Canon) and am very satisfied! The objective is, despite its size is relatively easy, but feels nonetheless very valuable to. Sorry, no lens hood is Canon typically included and must be purchased separately. Figure Technically it can be compared roughly with the kit lens 18-55 IS. Even at 250 mm, the image quality in my opinion is very good to have! In this zoom level and with Aperture 5.6 allows the lens well abuse as a portrait lens - with these settings you get even ordendliche exemptions back. Of course, do not compare with a real portrait lens, but for the amateur sufficient. A bit annoying I feel the loud IS, clearly audible as the kit lens, but is probably due to the construction. I bought the part just before a trip ... Africa with Safari. Since it was clear to me that the kit Shard would not be enough. To select just this lens and a 18-250 mm Superzomm z In the latter too many compromises in image quality one must in my opinion but received were. B., also the price would be much higher, more than double that at the time. So I opted for this lens. 55-250mm I feel completely sufficient. If you want more about it should be clear that then someday conclusion is with freehand Photography - Africa hats passed :)
I highly recommend this lens! There are price / performance technically nothing like it!
Positives: - Good image quality - Good zoom range - Relatively easy - Image stabilizer - Sufficiently fast AF - Fits comfortably in your hand - Price-Performance
Negatives: - Loud IS - No lens hood - Not very strong light
