I was looking for a replacement for my iPhone 5 - not because of a defect, but because my reading of small characters is increasingly difficult in advancing age. iPhone 6 Plus? A little better but for 900 ??? No. No more.
Why do I need a phablet? Mail, Internet, WhatsApp, Facebook, NHL Hockey.
Does the Frühstücksbrett to call somehow Assi from when it is held on the head? Yes. I do not care? Most already, in anticipation of calls I have a Plantronics headset. The effect is enhanced, because I have to buy a garish green shell to protect the Fonepad. I am over 50 - I may :-).
Now to Fonepad 7. That's Android - not IOS. A Google account I had and Android is married to Google.
IOS is rigid but thoughtful, Android is highly flexible and not consistently stable. If you understand that and accept, then you can engage in it. So it takes a few days until I get stuck as mail programs in Gmail to help Dolphin Browser surfing and find all the little helpers from the Google Play Goals their way to the Fonepad.
Applets, programs, grouping programs, deleting programs - everything easy on Android.
Oh, and the voice recognition is sheer madness. In direct comparison with SIRI iPhone lost out every time.
The Camera? Lousy - but I knew that before.
Battery Performance? Similar to iPhone.
Large, big fat minus: The charger is not "standard USB". What does that mean? "Normal" USB chargers load the Fonepad. Here are 5.2V required - and that makes me angry. In a time when all manufacturers have been exhorted to comply with a standard, Asus comes with such nonsense. Completely incomprehensible.
Conclusion: In terms of functionality, Apple has lost all advantage. Android has become really grown up and has left in some areas IOS behind. In terms of feel can not keep up this phablet with current products from Cupertino. But for less than 20% of the purchase price of an iPhone 6 Plus is all this waste.
Buy recommendation? In any case.
