So now to the software.
The tablet is equipped with a factory-specific LG Android based KitKat. Although this performs quite well, but unfortunately there is quite a lot of "bloatware" from LG on the good piece, also quite strong draw on the battery.
LG also offers a lollipop version, but only for devices sold as so-called "Google Play edition". Who flasht such a ROM to the normal G Pad (plus there's even a tutorial on the web), receives almost certainly a Brick and can send the device.
How is better?
You can flash a so-called AOSP version, very similar to Android, which is installed on the Nexus devices.
Very helpful Was the article on [...] under the heading "root-custom ROMs modding for-lg-G-Pad-8-3". The article is titled "652 276-how-root recovery TWRP-custom-rom-based v50020d.html". Unfortunately, I must I reinposten no direct links here.
What's needed is a little idea of Android and patience, but worth the effort. At the end you get:
- Pure Android 5.0 Lollipop
- Root privileges (if desired)
- A recovery in order to secure their device completely or restoren again.
- Better gamma settings for the screen (The LG Android creates a way to dark picture, especially in movies)
So in other words, the better and cheaper NEXUS Pad :-)
