The Man With The Horn (CD)

Customer Review

In 1975, Miles Davis ended a breath away electrical period and foisonnante.L'homme trumpet seems to have exhausted everything and tried everything (including a lot of drugs). At the climax of his creativity he lets himself carried away by the saturation and the vertigo of his own talent as emptied after bulimia period; will follow a period of "anorexia". It will take him almost five years to rebuild and reconnect with the music industry. "The man with the horn" is the manifesto of his return. Without real break with the past and the 70 (saturated guitars, percussion and fusion "jazz-funk-rock" are still there) this record yet launched bridges to the future by introducing shorter pieces, more structured and may be more efficaces.Certaines beaches (not necessarily the most convincing) as the piece "title" (which is btw sung) or "shout" are clearly directed even "pop-soul" as harbingers of albums "you're under arrest "and" tutu ". The sound of Miles and his games are still fragile, but a strange charm shines throughout the album. Special mentions for the rhythm (marcus miller, al foster, minu cinelu) and guitarist (Mike Stern), including "fat time". Overall, an excellent record.
