The training is divided in each case in four weeks blocks. Before each block you have to pass a test in which the program measures the respective current physical condition in the areas of fitness and athletics. The measurement by the Kinect system is extremely accurate. Part, the system recognizes whether one actually uses the weight just to Voderfuß or heel, even small movements of the shoulder are detected.
You choose between 3 different training goals; Increased strength building, Light force structure for an athletic figure and fat burning and weight reduction. From the results of the test, the number of input training days per week and the defined goal, the program then exercise series for the next four weeks selects.
As others have mentioned, you need some exercises for quite a lot of space. But that's not a problem of this program, but is just simply in the matter. If you do, for example pushups (push ups) and to identify the program if you perform this also correct, then it must be possible to grasp the camera the whole body in the appropriate angle and something goes only with correspondingly large space.
The Nike Kinect Training is here just simply limited to the optical possibilities of Kinect sensor Xbox 360 so you can get it to the program actually does not negatively interpret when you need a little more space.
Which unfortunately does not work is the voice control, it should be switched off. While recognizing reliable if you give voice commands, but there are often false detections and the program then interrupts constantly. I have often had the felt that their own language the coach leads to accidental control commands. Perhaps owed by the German VO.
The voice acting is anyway just a gimmick, which you do not need for the actual training.
The exercises in the program are varied, although however after about 2 months then but most already know, and therefore everything is repeated again and again. But that would be at a real personal trainer no different, because there is just not an infinite number of workout exercises without the use of equipment.
The detection if you are performing exercises correctly quite good, but of course depends on the functioning of the Kinect system from and thus of spatial conditions.
A little tip to all, room not too bright light and particularly strong light from behind to avoid. The Kinect camera has the same problem to film up to the light as any other camera also. Just one should also avoid sunlight shines directly into the camera. Dear darken a little more space.
For the system body movements and recognizes proportions good, tight-fitting clothes beneficial.
I have also made the best experience with dark clothing.
Who has a hard floor at home, should think about what the training area to make soft. Otherwise you very heavily loaded in some exercises, the bands and the Achilles tendon.
I have now added myself for quite a good and very large gymnastics mat. Little Yoga and Fitness mats are not, because the slip on smooth floors to slightly off.
The Nike + Kinect Training is to bring a below average athlete quickly able to the limits and thus to increase fitness and Athletic. The thing with the weight reduction only works best with proper diet. For me, it took a long time until the first kilos were down, because what was degraded by training on the belly I gained rapidly in muscles again. It was initially quite confusing as the scales showed no progress at all. Therefore, the best measure whatsoever times extent of problem areas such as belly. :-)
I'm curious how long the program can continue to lead me to the limits. Now, after more than 12 weeks of training I feel that the program can call me right still quite long.
The training success is noticeable, if you do it really seriously. After the first 4 weeks you can clearly see that fitness, strength and coordination has been improved.
I would wish me that Microsoft and Nike develop this program further and bring the new Xbox One generation out. Unfortunately, the signal of a further development of the downloadable additional contents, only one in 2 years, rather negative.
For me Nike Kinect Training is a great software for workout at home. It asks, trained there and the selection of exercises is well matched. By interacting with the virtual coach who sees if you do it right and gives appropriate instructions, in my opinion is better than any of the many workout DVD movies.
