Unwrapped, inserted works. Problems with a non-matching plug, such as those complained here, I did not; the spread of the contacts (see below) was from the outset and fits tight enough. In Detail: - The plug is long enough that you can use the distribution in most "lowered" jacks (ashtray, tray in center console), also in an angled state. - The spread of the ground contacts on the plug can be varied by a rotating ring, so that the plug is always a perfect fit. - The spread angle can be locked with a lock button. - The sockets are relatively short, but so far I had no problems. The plug, which I've tested so far, fit properly and were holding. - A pilot light indicates that the sockets have power. An LED, indicating that a consumer is inserted, would be desirable, but is not present.
On my way home today I have chosen a path over cobblestones - no failures.
Conclusion: The value for money at true clear recommendation
