But my skepticism was unfounded, my copy has no underexposure problems on the D7000 on, the focus sits 100% (with dream lilac test checked) and even at 300mm focal length is rattenscharf already at full aperture!
The VC (Anti shake) is extremely effective. It almost looks as if the photo were nailed when he strikes, and just great!
The AF is very fast, the engine almost inaudibly.
Only the VC hear (not annoying) when it operates.
Before I had the Tamron Nikkor 70-300VR. This I sold because I was dissatisfied with the edge of above 200mm.
The Tamron, however, reigns supreme and there is even 5 years warranty, if you register with Tamron!
From the operation, the feel and the quality feeling is for me the Tamron the Nikkor second to none.
My conclusion: The Tamron is clear to me the best 70-300!
Update: In the meantime I use the lens on the D600. Again, at the full frame (FX) a knotless choice, I have nothing to complain about! - See photo of Great Crested Grebe with prey.
