I am Tiesto fan since 2001 (I think at least :)). The first time where I've heard of him was a live recording of Dance Valley 2001. I immediately knew that he is still einges day come out really big because it has neatly lifted from other DJs and artists of the Trance scene. But what has that got to do with this Review?
I try to be very neutral so that everyone can still make his own image and judgment in respect. His previous self-produced albums "Just Be", "Elements of Life", "Parade of the Olympics" and "In My Memory" are truly for his name, because his songs in mainstream, etc. immediately withdraw "commercial discotheques" from the others and one as a "Hardcore" now know, whose song or track is being laid. He has every time his music as well as of the trance scene redefined and partly also tried to copy his style but that did not work out and will not work (for this album perhaps)
Unfortunately, Tiesto is derecognized more and jets all around the world to not hang up mainly in discos but same standard as in places all stages could fill the number of visitors here (what would I make of course :)). When so much is on the way and, moreover, at very different locations, then you also get with my opinion, which is just in the genre Trance, Electro, House, Techno going and especially what people like and do not. And here we come to the point why I give only 2 stars:
Tiesto is apparently accustomed to success so he thought, just get out what accommodate what people already know and love are of the direction her rather than what quite unique to bring his style to the market. Here I speak of the tracks from the 80s, which were once hunted and processed by the electrical system. I am thinking of the "San Fransico" song or "We do not need no education" (boom boom boom boom and everyone knows what I mean determined herewith, at least I hope)
Almost the entire CD therefore falls into this category because you can really feel that any songs have been remixed by pop stars to sell them as a new product. Although still is somewhere which from Tiesto to hear, but the melodies, the songs and the lyrics for me it is no more like I'm used to it, especially as I am used to from him a trance, but a product of the Pop scene where he has really lost nothing. Although the guest singer and fellow artist are all not bad and I do not want to devalue, but I am of the opinion that now this recession mainly accounts that Tiesto with such artists would have much more to do where he mixes his style with those of the other only slightly , This album is now time TIESTO - KALEIDOSCOPE and not Nelly Furtado - KALEIDOSCOPE or Tegan and Sara - KALEIDOSCOPE with FFEATURING TIESTO. The chances of full 5 star would have to get by me had the album loose and he could make this album his best readily, but he has, in my opinion chose to go into the mainstream under and ALA the "commercialism rail Future Trance, Dream Dance, Tunnel Trance "to move, probably as soon as possible again cashing a lot of money because he knows how many fans he would buy his new album, bought and will buy. However, Tiesto has a few "stand-alone" tracks added to the CD where one knows and realizes that he has worked alone in the composition. This circumstance has given the album the second star, and therefore only two and not three, as these few "Single-Artist" tracks are not really the yellow of the egg.
But I do not even now say that this album is a scrap that you should not buy. I have to mention strong that Tiesto has what daring and it's totally gone wrong.
I hope indeed that his next album will be so again as I'm used to it from its previous and as I kenne.Von him in that respect because here does not fit this album to him and supplemented his previous albums musically not really. These songs fit well in those discos that weekend and some during the week to play every night the same songs and many thousands of 15-24 year attracting not get charts, pop and rock as well as their "Electro" enough and everything they do not know, as "shit", respectively.
Radical Tiesto fans I recommend this album to, otherwise I would rather advise them there myself to buy but can it give better :). And in between, it is sufficient, however, for constant music where you can not get a catchy rather not.
