Had a bag searched as protection for the transport, in which also the Galaxy Tab 12.2 Pro fits, without having to remove the Flipcover (green Varinate with plastic frames of Mulbess). And it fits perfectly. By the peripheral bead on each side, there is ample protection against lateral pressure and in front of the zipper. Without Flipcover the bag would, however, for the 12.2 inch a little too big. However, if you still want to accommodate charging cable or other odds and ends, will look at the larger dimensions rather positive.
Negative: the handles on RV are huge. Alternatively, one could remove them and replace them with small key rings with a cord. However full marks as perfect for my purposes.
