Packing: Safe (air cushion and a practical transport bag) + carton paper and carton
Material of the lens: very robust, hard and clean as usual from Walimex processed
Lens cap: Only the dust of the lens seems cheap cast (IO but because in any case only for the cabinet), the shutter on the camera side threaded acts again robust.
Focusing: The focusing goes right out of hand: hard enough so as not to displace themselves and soft enough to nice to focus slowly.
Zoom: The zoom can be determined with a threaded wheel. This threaded wheel makes a slightly stiff impression (hence the star deduction. I can not say how that affects at a longer period of use. Possibly a flaw!)
All tests relate to the Pentax K-3:
Screwing with T2 connector is very simple as. The lens is firmly and deeply into the camera.
Weight: very hard, but for the purpose and price entirely IO
The first photos:
Mode: Manual
Zoom: Fully extended
Adjusted lens 16 and ISO slightly higher (400-800)
Freehand: It is clearly visible that a tripod is essential in this focal length, but at least one shelf, work best with remote release!
Mode: Automatic, freehand
Very good results, comparable with mid-range lenses
Comparison: Tamron 70-300mm and Walimex 650-1300 fully extended, then checked in Photoshop on sharpness and luminance.
In Focus range a slight deficit can be seen. The contrast and color quality can be optimized with ease.
Theme:
Wildlife photography and hard to reach places can be photographed protrude with tripod and remote release.
Conclusion: It incur great middle class photos which need the finishing touches with image editing programs ...
The comparison I draw with Sigma and Tamron Objetiven in various categories: macro, fixed focal length, telephoto for private users.
Of course, this lens comes nowhere near to the quality of the top models from Euro sector and a panel under 2.8. But it does the job ...
