After almost 12 hours of play time a little resumé.
Since this is my first Risen - is playing I can not say anything regarding improvements or changes to its predecessors. But some things are me denoch as RPG - noticed players.
Installation 5/5: Yes, unfortunately, is also an issue something in this day and age. Here all gamers should the publisher Send a thank-you email. They are still, installation DVD's where really what it is, and even really only as much hard disk space is needed as indicated (8 GB).
DVD purely agree Terms of Use, select location, install (about 10 minutes for me) to play. No code entry, no link with an online platform etc. I was really excited about this simplicity, but is nowadays far too seldom, and yet possible.
Graphic 4.5 / 5: effects such as smoke, water, lava, fire and light are very well done. From time to time, but you can already see a few pixels quite solid graphics. (All settings on High or Ultra). If you do not see in some textures but coarser pixels, a full points would do justice. (VII there. Yes in the future HD texture packs for download.) Day-night cycle is great. I have the gamma value in the basic setting and am just in a gloomy forest and am looking forward to visit this sometimes during the day (so I can see sometimes more than 2 meters around me around). There are beds, which one can sleep through the day or night.
Gameplay 4/5: quests are quite varied and fun. The teleportation system is extremely convenient, as you once they are activated, including those from the wild can quickly get to other places. There are again several islands. For the most part my previous season I'm just on an island and maybe 1/6 of them explored.
Fights I find, because it's my first Risen part yes, very demanding. Opponents differ from each other from attack behavior. Some attack only once, other succession before inserting several times a break. Perhaps Risen professionals find it easier, but once multiple enemies show up, it may happen that one a few times fast charging needs, or his whole roasted meat devouring (counterpart to Healpots). Who does not block, even more often !!!
Which brings me to auto-saving of the game. In addition to a high-speed memory key the game saves at certain points. I find very good, I also already have to make few times of use. The mini map is convenient, but also reveals too much.
Unfortunately, in my opinion the menu has come too short. There are no windows which one can compare the fitted subject with an inventory, be it a weapon or armor. The menu has several sub-menus (inventory, log, character development, map), which are divided widerrum and can only be closed when you click on a little red X in the corner. If you press Escape to fly completely out of the menu. Perhaps I am mistaken, but it seems to me as would the the PC version menu suffer through the console version!
Talents do not get like in other RPG's with Levelups, but you have to buy gold and that in these NPCs. This makes gold very important in this game.
Sound 3/5: For sound I give an average rating because it was a not so important. The effects on the individual movements and weapons fit, the music comes through my small 2.1 system over vigorously.
Each of the Risen does not know and / or finally back wants to play a nice RPG, the game should antesten quiet times.
Should there be any questions or comments, please in the comments.

----- ----- UPDATE 16/08/2014
Combat system: Once you have invested a few points, especially with the "Bladedancer" talent which increases attack speed, the fighting also run more smoothly.
Menu: By now you have as a player also found out that you can navigate the menus using the WASD keys. Even the hint that you can close the sub-menu with the right mouse button, has been really helpful.
Guild / Communities: Only today I have decided on a community, before I've done all the quests as much as possible to meet you all. That was partly, really boring, but made me neatly into the character development pushed upwards, so I currently have vll. A too high level. (Quests which helps me the whole guild, I could also do solo) If I play the game again I will quickly look for a community, because I think it makes it much short-winded.
Mini games are fun and help increase the supply of gold.
Have been playing now for just under 40 hours played (all sequences considered and dialogues listened / read). 3 Items from the collection I have not found, but otherwise everything was wonderful. Why are there branches of service, was able to get one until now not exactly explain. Armor pieces you will find hardly any in the free world. And the merchants are nearly all worse than the DLC armor. So far as what diversity of armor I am really disappointed.
Monsters are very already designed, but after a while only repeat itself. A little more variety would have been nice. Especially since many monsters have differed only in name, but not the attack behavior. (Lavagolem, Erzgolem etc.)
As some have already written, the story really fits on a beer mat. I thought that the story might initially highly cooks slowly. But it remains at room temperature.
Freedom: In many places you will find areas or invisible walls that you had not expected. The exploration drive is still large.
As I have expected more "game" (40 hours, I find a little RPG), I am sorry to change my rating to a *** (+). Although graphics and battle system and especially the monster design (Lavagolems look simply fabulous) deserve something else.
Whether I play again by playing (as a magician this time) I have to think it over.
