I sing really like a hobby, and take my singing can be enjoyed on the PC on. Until then I had only one headset bentutz (not a cheap, but one of Sennheiser), but was never satisfied with the recording quality (overdrive, noise etc).
As a PC user with limited budget (am a student), remained my only two options:
Either a normal vocal microphone with a XRL to USB connector, or even a USB-micro.
After much back and forth Think I opted for a USB microphone. I happened to see in a music store and bought this also the G-Track.
I summarize my opinion in points together ('m not a born writer; P)
-Works Smoothly on Windows XP and Windows Vista.
-No Complicated install any software, but simply plug & play
-The G-Track is also the same sound card. For me very well because I'm working with a laptop, and the sound quality that comes from the sound output, was really terrible. So instead of my Logitech connect sound boxes on my laptop, I can do this at the connector on the G-Track. The sound quality that is transmitted through the G-Track is crystal clear and really good!
-The Regulators for the volume level of microphone, instrumental and sound output at the G-Track is very good, because I can quickly and easily adjust the volume immediately.
-You Can adjust to the G-Track, that one's voice is heard when recording without late time: very very important for some singers! This function does not have many USB mics.
-The Recording quality to miles better than a normal headset. No noise, no control, crystal clear sound of the voice recordings. Pefekt for recording vocals, instrument (got my Keyboardspielen included. Very good quality!), Podcast, or even just as a microphone for voice chat (Skype've used)! I can not share the view, as the other reviewer wrote here that the recording is quiet.
I've tried it: The G-Track could even record my voice, even though I was at least 4 feet away from the microphone! (Of course a little quieter)
Conclusion: A really good microphone and a recommendable alternative to the expensive mic pre-amp combinations and the like.
It meets all the requirements of an amateur musician. I would always buy a new one! :)
