Lightroom has greatly simplified the management of my photos and improved the quality of the final:
- Cataloging is effective (key word notation, gps coordinates, collections, ...) and quick search
- Development options (removal of black dust spots, exposure adjustment, recovery too light or too dark areas, correcting white balance, contrast, various filters and varied, noise reduction, etc.) very efficient and intuitive (big change since v3)
- All the manipulations are done nondestructively, originals are untouched, the changes are stored in an information base (the library), we did not manage to 10 copies of the same photo, since we export to lightroom the launch, sending mail or printing when desired.
- Full of features I do not use, or rarely, such as editing movies, slide shows, web galleries, ...
What is missing you it there? Nothing, when considered as a LR flows and development management tool. For advanced editing, management layers, clipping etc., is another area.
