For amateur photographers and landscape photographers a good and cheap alternative to Lee - filter or even the more expensive Singh-Ray (you should still be aware that these filters play in the top league, and all are worth times their money if they are to understood use)
But back to the Cokin filters.
I use this filter (in size P) for a while now and has always been quite happy. All filters come in a storage box and are easy to handle - even for beginners (will only suitable filter holder and an adapter in the respective lens size required).
Well suited for landscapes that exceed the dynamic range of the camera (that is, to large differences in brightness and downs have). With a little practice can be really interesting shots produce and creatively.
Deduction there because of the scratch susceptibility - with the filters should therefore go easy, otherwise you have not continued enjoyment of the plastic disc.
Something disturbing is also the magenta tone in the sky, which arises when using multiple filters (with the right software, this little flaw but to eliminate quickly).
Conclusion: Anyone looking for a cost-effective alternatives to Lee filters and Singh-Ray, which will be able to find at Cokin. The filters are easy to handle and suitable for landscaping or vacation shots in extreme lighting situations.
From me, there are therefore 4 stars!
