Packaging and first impressions:
The Pure rock is pretty well packed in a BeQuiet! typical black box.
In addition to the radiator and fan are still the necessary mounting hardware and instructions included.
The cooler makes a solid impression and I could not detect any defects in workmanship. The cooler is already
Applied thermal grease, not settled, but I did not care law was because I wanted to use my own.
The attached fan is a Pure Wing 2, this also works well finished.
Instructions and mounting:
The instructions are easy to understand and available in all major languages.
During installation, I can only speak for the AMD socket, but the cooler itself lies
but very easy to install on my FM2 + motherboard. It does not even an additional
Backplate or the like necessary so that with AMD sockets not Mainboard
needs to be strengthened. (For Intel this unfortunately applies only to the base in 2011.)
And actually sitting the cooler bombproof. The fan can be, as usual in this price range,
using two clamps attach to the radiator. Also this sitting here quite firmly and does not wobble.
Cooling capacity and volume
The Pure rock cools me with a slightly overclocked AMD Athlon X4 860K Black Edition with a TDP of 95 watts.
In idle, the temperatures at about 32 ° C, but my case is also quite small and poorly ventilated.
Under full load, the temperatures rise to about 55 °. The Athlon tolerate a maximum of about 75 °.
The fan is inaudible to about 750 rpm, dadrüber however you can hear how he scoops the air.
However, it never sounds like circular saws, but only after eigetnlich moving air.
I have the fan until now but still run only on 50% performance since the 55 ° for me are fine.
Conclusion:
There are many positive and actually no real negative aspects.
The Pure rock can be installed (at least for AMD and Intel socket 2011) in my opinion, very simple
and is firmly in favor and does not wobble. The fans performed under "normal" circumstances, his service almost silently and the cooling capacity is up to 100 TDP definitely sufficient. But he should tackle allegedly to 150 TDP, and I can not really imagine me personally now. Have it but can not test and that's why this is not a negative criterion.
So I highly recommend the Pure rock but, above all, because the extent still are relatively compact for a tower heatsink. For about 30 definitely a quality product.
