A camera (housing) alone brings but no images yet, so I want to go here occurring construct of camera lens on a software in reality.
The camera is unfortunately a bit too compact for my needs. And I do not even mean the rather poor handling of large and heavy lenses ("top-heavy") but the operation while using the (excellent !!!) EVF. Custom buttons or the switch "AEL (MF-AF) are simply obscured by the front of the photographer, as well as the C2 key The handle could be a bit bigger for the hands of an adult (and not arg small geratenen :)) man. - -> see a7II!
Shooting in ISO 25600 is not a problem if you record in RAW (which you should do anyway always!) And then developed with the right software. The Sony "Image Data Converter" Sony's own solution to develop RAW's is known-bad. But in this case, really bad. Noise you can not get even get out of the pictures, it looks sometimes even like as if the pictures are worse after development.
I've tested a bit and am of the opinion that with DxO Optics Pro 10 (Elite version) is by far the best results can be achieved ("Prime" -Entrauschungstool, only in the Elite version available).
In addition to ergonomics, I still prefer from another point for integration with A-mount lenses. That may the reader of the camera opposite do not appear fair, but written as input I can vote no single case but a camera system. And since the choice of optics with the native E-mount is low, you have to switch to other here. So I still have another (A-mount) cameras remains only the handle for LA-EA3 / 4 adapter. I own both, the LA-EA 3 is in my opinion only for objectives which have nütlich eh no AF (eg Samyang / Walimex). Focusing would be possible in principle if the lens has its own AF drive (so no old "rod driven" lenses), but a focus not find this rule and then yet (less than 5% of cases), then maybe after 5-10 Search seconds ... HThe LA-EA4 works better there, but is due to the outdated AF module just too slow. I do not understand why Sony is not the AF module of alpha 99 installed.
The camera's contrast AF seems to work reliably with the native E-mount lenses; but since i owned only one of them (FE 28-75) and therefore can not say much about the performance.
Good is definitely that Sony has here touched up the bayonet, everything is now as it should and even when ISO400000 and attached lens cap you see no light leaks.
All in all, the two points (ergonomics, reduced benefits Sony's adapter) a reason to deduct a star for me. Always with the knowledge in mind that I rate this record not only the housing alone but a system for images and develop. Since Sony has yet to make improvements, both in hardware and software. It can not be my opinion that third-party better exploit the system than the manufacturers themselves.
PS: The camera itself deserves 4.5 stars (because of the ergonomics no 5)
