Positive side, the device is of good aesthetic quality, it gives a good impression of solidity. The compact side is respected (even if the target takes up eventually), and it is not heavy. It glides well in a purse, a little less in a jacket pocket (because of the goal, always)
The pictures are of very good quality, with the option of photos in RAW format, and very good shots, especially in the high ISO values.
The menu offers interesting possibilities, even if its use is confusing at first (no dial on the device like Canon for example, but access by the "joystick")
The possibility of development by the touch screen is very surprising but ultimately practice.
Monitoring development of moving parts is not bad.
Side issues "less positive"
- Too bad the default goal is a 16-50, is really very little. And interchangeable lenses are expensive
- Sony's RAW format is not supported by my version of Camera Raw in Photoshop, I have to pass by the Sony software until I migrate to Windows 7 and the latest version of Camera Raw.
- In burst mode, writing pictures on the SD card is long. If power is turned off in the process, it will need tens of seconds to finish writing the pictures and therefore the objective to return ... We must therefore wait before putting the camera at the risk of damaging the objective.
- Both the transfer of photos from the SD card to the computer is basic, as the video is more complex: you must install the Sony software to convert video and import it on the computer, by connecting the camera on the computer (exit so the card reader). And that, I like that way. While I recognize that the quality of the video is not bad.
- Wifi seems trivial: it is mandatory to go through a smartphone or a computer to send photos or messages on social networks, you can not do it directly from the camera. And no compatibility with Windows Phone.
- No charger in the box: you must connect the camera to charge the battery ... So when you invest in a second battery, it is mandatory to monopolize the device for charging. That said, the battery holds up well.
- The touch screen is used only for developed: it will still use wheels to navigate menus or playback mode.
In conclusion, a good hybrid camera, but I found a bit expensive given the few negatives. I think I will eventually move to RX100ii, whose opportunities especially at the Zoom and compactness attract me more.
