A certain decadence prevailed following the breath of progressive rock and precipitous fall of Peter Frampton too quickly erected "guitar hero" as a new Hendrix.
Francis Cabrel is singer-songwriter and maintains since its inception a quality directory with often poetic texts that hold water.
In this first album, "My city", "Petite Marie", "Dust walls" (his first success) and the wonderful acoustic "Madeleine" are the Top 4.
The other titles are a bit uneven. Some are less inspired with too loaded orchestration ("Imagine"). Moreover, fast songs ("I was lost me" and "Change Doctor") stick less to Cabrel style. His forays into blues or rock were never very convincing.
A nice album to listen
