For a shopping trip, we have evaluated the existing kettle in different shops. We have no kettle found who convinced us in quality, design and feel.
So let's look at Amazon:
An intensive search on the Amazon website then brought us to Kenwood SMJ030. The design we liked and the few reviews were all points that were important for us, very positive -> So ordered.
After the quick delivery, we have already noted when unpacking that the kettle makes a very good overall impression. The build quality is flawless and of high quality. The quite heavy boiler is with the pleasant rubberized grip comfortably in your hand.
The lid can be comfortably and safely open, as hooked and caught nothing with the push button on the handle. The lid opens wide enough to comfortably fill water. To close the lid is pressed with a finger on a large rubberized surface in stainless steel lid, which also always pleasant temperatures.
The electric switch can be easily operated, lit during the operating period and switched off in time after reaching the cooking temperature.
In operation particularly pleasant:
It comes out very little steam. The boiler can therefore remain under the wall cabinets in the kitchen. Our old kettle we had to because of the steam development pull forward to be protected, the wall cabinets from moisture
Before the spout is inside the stove with a removable metal screen as limescale filter. The filter also prevents splashing out of the boiling water from the container. Again made our old boiler problems.
The only weak point of Kenwood is the level indicator. The level indicator is a bit inconvenient behind the handle and is therefore easy to read. The location probably is due to the design.
Conclusion: Prima unit, absolute buy recommendation. We bought a second Kenwood kettle SMJ030 as a gift 2 month after the first purchase.
