I join my "previous speakers" absolutely on, do a 3EB with this album: Convince - though not immediately. After their debut album "Third Eye Blind" I was initially extremely disappointed "Blue" (2nd album), but after repeated listen, I have to admit it is by no means the first. I would even argue now "Blue" was more mature than the "College rock" -like Erstalbum. What can you say? How is it then, that it still surprises me when Album No.3 "Out of the Vein" only sounds as if a poor imitation of the very first attempt? It gets better and better: Even here exactly what in "Blue" already had happened before. But you can tell that the style the 3EB at "Blue" still taunted no longer here is heard. Overall, the album seems less experimental than "Blue" it was. Personally, I find it unfortunate, because it feels it reminds quickly to the "old" the first album. There is in fact no progress, but familiar 3EB fare with a decent shot of good riffs and brilliant melodies. As an absolute 3EB fan so the following conclusion: Buy. And as a staunch music fan who is not on commercial radio music: Buy (nor can define the first album "Third Eye Blind" - because not Miss :) and it should still be boring, "Blue" order.
