Very clear "hands off!" The WMF vegetable slicer could be a really good product. The blade is sharp as hell, everything touches his sound, the cutting width is even adjustable - so actually the best conditions. The problem: The blade is fixed to the underside of a riveted sheet metal. This sheet is about 1.5 mm thick, making the knife an edge to stay at the 4 mm nor reliable hanging at even slices of strength, so that every 3-4 cuts is forced at the latest, to increase the slice thickness, herauszupulen clippings (on the fingers watch it!), the cutting thickness to shrink again, having to perform 3 slices later only to the procedure. Properly thin slices go certainly not - and that was for me the reason to buy a vegetable slicer. I just wanted to quickly as possible to cut thin slices - but compared to WMF vegetable slicer it would even more quickly with a normal snack knife. The vegetable slicer is completely unusable for its intended purpose. It may be that the quality is better than that of the competing models (eg of Börner), but what good is that if you can cut not even simple disks with it? Clear design flaw, so real 0-star and it really belongs to yet deducted for the outrageous price.
I have since bought myself a competition model. While this may go after 5 years broken, but at least it works.
