The mouse is -like all other Mad Catz Mouse pretty good in the hand and has an ideal weight distribution, but is of course due to the battery compartment is no longer really the weight can be reduced. The mouse meets both of the haptics and by weight (Office COUNCIL: 138g; RAT 5 without additional weights: 124g or 3 out of 5 additional weights 139g) the typical Mad Catz RAT mouse. By comparison, the Razer Mamba 2012 weighs 137g (exact model I wanted to replace by the Mad Catz RAT ... Office wanted: (...).
Now for Mac OS: Neither of the included USB Bluetooth adapter (Mac OS Yosemite starts when you plug in the keyboard wizard) nor the Mac's Bluetooth adapter (initial Bluetooth is connection, the mouse is then but just as well-known but unconnected device in the Bluetooth devices overview listed) available. Very unfortunate. I have opened a ticket at the Mad Catz Support. We'll see what happens ...
And now for the Windows Support: I've tried adapters under Windows 7 with an HP EliteBook internal Intel Bluetooth adapter and an Alienware M14x internal Bluetooth. Both internal adapter (Intel and Dell) have the Mad Catz RAT Office Mouse not found, despite the mouse reset. Once I use the included Bluetooth adapter, the mouse is detected properly.
Conclusion: It is probably a pure Bluetooth low energy device (from 4.0), which does not support Bluetooth Classic (so-called hybrid Bluetooth devices). However, it seems also problems with the Bluetooth low energy standard to provide (such as the Mac Book Pro Retina), which could perhaps be solved by a firmware update but. Therefore: for me only on PC platform using the supplied dongle (USB Port again less ...) available. Therefore, only 2 stars.
