The dock connector of the iPod has indeed a long time allows the optional charging via USB Firewire _und_. Newer iPods (and iPhones) - in my case, an iPod nano 4th generation - can be charged via USB, but only.
Particularly disturbing was this in connection with my trusty Kensington FM Transmitter (the "white"), whose sound quality is said to be better than in the follow-up products and with which I am also very satisfied itself. The audio transmission works flawlessly with the new iPods, but they are just not loaded and at a longer drive the battery is then quickly empty.
The Griffin Charge Converter the FM transmitter has now again full functionality (audio transfer and charging) - and I'm happy!
Only the price is a bit steep for my feeling after such a simple plastic adapter part (but that is quite stably processed!) - Whether the purchase is worth, just everyone has to decide for themselves ...
Functionally, however, top !!
