That's what I asked myself and I think if you look at a lot out there and everything makes staying with baby, the answer is YES. If our 3 months old daughter sitting in the bike trailer, it protects the glasses not only from the sun but also from fine stones which unfortunately fall into the car from time to time. (Be the umbrella has always adjusted so that it throws the right shade) while walking with the baby sling or with the stroller and I think if we can go to the lake in the summer, the sunglasses fix also in the beach bag. On the whole, are 15, - really not much and the glasses are lightweight and fits into any diaper bag.
