I use the camera in one of my model airplanes. There I am dependent on short exposure times, because there may be blurring by the motion and vibration of the motor. Here, the aperture of the lens is almost a little too high, so that if it is not absolutely sunny, happy to come to shake. If I fly in sunny weather at lunchtime, the shots are perfect. Not so in the evening, because it happens that the horizon is burned and nearby objects are underexposed.
Otherwise, all features are available, which are needed as an ambitious amateur photographer. I need the preset aperture (2.8), so I get the shortest possible exposure times. Also you can create continuous shooting (approx 2 photos / s) while the shutter button is pressed and until the card memory is full.
The video function is perfect on the image quality. Here can be recorded with the camera only 2GB movie, despite the used 16 GB memory. I have to reboot between land and the video.
Compared to a little less expensive models from other brands (Samsung, Olympus and Sony) the FX550 is clearly the best.
But I'd better buy the identical FX440, which contains no Toch screen. The touch screen is annoying, you touched him unintentionally (when installed on the plane), the settings adjust. Or I should have constituted the very bright LX3EG, with a maximum aperture of 2.0 rather than 2.8, the exposure times are almost in half.
