The Samsung 830 runs for 20 months with no problems and stable in my MacBook Unibody 7.1 (Core2Duo 2.4GHz, 8GB RAM, Snow Leopard, Mountain Lion and now under Mavericks, Sata2). Have a Clean Install performed and then fill in the Time Machine backup set plays. Am generally against a cloning from HDD to SSD, whether Mac or Windows - therefore the supplied Samsung Magican was unnecessary software - does not work anyway on Mac.

The Mac runs relatively "slow" down, but it could be due to my 30 open Firefox Tabs.

The firmware ... 003 ... was it already and I understand there's no newer. Therefore, I can not say anything about the update process under Mac.
