One thing first: I have not tried before the stove, so he had at a festival its first use.
Actually, I have the MSR WhisperLite first taken only as a replacement boiler if the gas stove does not work - no matter what he did not do at the end - and so the MSR WhisperLite was built (gas stove was leaking, gas flowed from the cartridge ...)
The first attempt failed because of the preheating. It is recommended that you do not give too much fuel in the Vorheizpfanne what may perhaps be true, if you use the stove somewhere where there is absolutely no wind, but if a strong wind comes you will not get far with this small amount of gasoline, the generator not hot enough, the fuel not gas, it is announced first wait until the boiler has cooled down again sufficiently, which certainly 10 - can take 15 minutes.
Well, the Vorheizpfanne then completely filled the next time, set on fire (incl. Windscreen and floor reflector of course) and after not even one minute the system was hot enough, I was able to turn up the fuel supply, the result was a beautiful, soot-free, blue flame.
When the flame burns properly for once blue you want garnichtmehr stop cooking with the system, then the thing has a lot of power. A Bialetti pot of coffee is (excl. Pre-heating phase) in almost exactly four minutes finished, a can of ravioli even in under two minutes.
Here let me say that you can not really accurate metered fuel stove, usually the thing runs out at full power or is, however, a really low flame can not be created, at least I do not have something done, perhaps to something even the experts. :)
The self-cleaning function works well, should the fuel supply be plugged times it was enough for me to shake the cooker, then came gasoline from the nozzle again.
The only drawback in my eyes is that the locking mechanism for the main pillars requires a lot of strength and I sometimes fear, thereby damaging the genertor because some people but probably use this stove more than 20 years, the system still seems quite sophisticated and stable to be.
From me the kettle gets anyway a strong buy recommendation, just fun part. :)
