For the songs on Spark had contrast, only 8 months. In addition, a professional co-author was tried for three songs, which had previously worked for Celine Dion and Jennifer Lopez. These circumstances may explain why Marits compositions no longer sound as unmistakable as before.
Here the songs in brief:
1. "Keeper Of The Keys"
A quiet opener, whispered to guitar and piano, in the style of the previous albums. Maybe a little mannered self-quotation, but on the whole quite nice.
2. "Do not Move"
One of the highlights of the album, though, as well as "Have You Ever", written with the help of others. Especially the elaborate and skilful implementation by your band is great (note the percussion from the 2nd chorus). A very nice melody that lies somewhere between Marit typical nursery rhyme and Edvard Grieg. This is one of its great strengths; I know of no other contemporary artist known that creates such an almost unearthly rich sound!
3. "What If"
For Marit an unusual song beginning. First we hear a rather dreary tune with everyday harmonic progression. But then, in the chorus, her usual graceful melody unfolds. A beautiful moment. The string arrangement is simply a dream, the listener should treat yourself to the pleasure to pursue its development attention from the first to the last second.
4. "I Can not Love You Anymore"
Trying a lovelorn song. Somewhat arbitrarily, from the category: 'We need a song!'
5. "Coming Home"
For me, the low point of the album: She's trying to quote himself, sounding more like the Corrs as to Marit Larsen. This is common, uninspired Radiopop, try a new single.
6. "Me And The Highway"
A tour song, like their heroes, they have also written before her. A cute
The beginning, but then a chorus without brilliant idea.
7. "Last Night"
Another heartbreak song, unfortunately, less appealing than usual by Marit.
8. "Have You Ever"
Here, the artist wanders obviously on the paths of the band that they never mentioned even in your influences: ABBA. A beautiful chorus, more instrumental than sung. Not stolen, only borrowed a little inspiration. Very worth listening to!
9. "Fine Line"
In this song I see Marit on the piano harmonies and slide up and down to hum: 'Hmm, something's got to be still in it' '. Too bad, but no shame.
10. "That Day"
In keeping with the first song of the bow is quiet, sometimes whispering, closed. Fine, but the magic is missing (see 'Fences' from the album 'The Chase').
In sum:
1 x really good (track2)
2 x very worth listening to (3, 8)
3 x okay (1,6,10)
4 x well ... (4,5,7,9)
Conclusion: The unfortunately mediocre third album an outstanding artist, but with little gloss points. Production and musical performances of all participants are excellent. In addition, I do not personally Marit Larsen mediocre rather than by some other artists the best. Hopefully it will be for the fourth album back time and again gives us so beautifully natural, unprocessed struggled and imaginative songs like their first two solo albums.

About this album, one can not pay enough Marit Larsen recognition that it, something good, Nice opposes the wrong, poses liable depression that celebrate some musicians / Selbstinszenierer.
