simple and very safe small network

With devolo dLAN Ethernet I now have 8 devices hanging on the network:
6 PCs (1xWin98SE with USB power, 1xWinVistaX86, 1xWinVistaX64,
1x Win XP SP3X86, 1x Win7X86, 1xWin7X64)
1 devolo DSL router
1 network drive Iomega
1 network printer in bidirectional access over WinXP machines
The network is mixed with simple dLAN HS and adapters.

Negative experience (leads to the devaluation of 1 star):
If only 2 PCs to communicate with each other adapters rated here
and all other devices are inactive, this connection is not full
Bandwidth of 85 Mbit / s is available, but only a fraction.
According to the supplied software to monitor the network even less than
between the inactive devices. When large files are transmitted (in the GB range)
does that annoying slowing of the transfer. Especially annoying,
as unnecessary and technically better solvable.
Unfortunately, the version 85 Mbit / s is not compatible with the version with 200 Mbit / s.

Positive and enough reason to stay at devolo:
- It is having to lay a landline at no extra cables in the building
- High security through password protection of the network and various technical
Hedges which impede invaders crafts
- Newer devolo adapters use less power (this one about 3.5 watts)
- Practically the through-hole version is for another device itself outlet
- Ethernet cable approx 1.7m in delivery
- Software for monitoring network installed on any PC
- Software for configuration (necessarily follow the operating instructions!)
- Software for PC-PC communication (data exchange, chat room)
- The transmission power ranges to HD video from one device to another without jerking
to give back. That is always more power available than the fastest DSL connections
can offer and for each PC on the network!
Downside: with Win7, the Win98SE PC Replace only Internet data in the network.
This is not a devolo problem, but an operating system problem or to the PC technology
back to lead. Other pitfalls has Win7 with the new network detection technology, which can
a bring to despair, if, for example times the adapter changes and despite setting
external IP addressing the network is no longer detected. A Microsoft issue
