First, I tested the slightly older Rode Stereo VideoMic, which is an excellent workmanship - but for much more difficult. With the sound I was actually very happy, but I read in other reviews that the "Pro" again clearly a target drauflegen. That bothered me, so I now ordered the Stereo VideoMic Pro. After some tests my result was clear: The Pro version is indeed built much lighter and comes from the valence is far closer to the older SVM. When Pro is practically all exterior plastic. But: The Sound Test convinced me then but for the SVM Pro! Already in the 0dB position, the level is a bit higher and the position +20 dB I have to take back the already huge level at the GH3. This then results in an overall even better signal to noise ratio of the sound recording, because it also reduces the amount of noise with the withdrawal of the GH3 preamplifier. Overall, the likely function in a number of cameras, whose levels can be set manually. If your camera has no Switchable automatic, then these controls so high that the total noise is very high! But is this "+ 20dB booster" so completely unsuitable. Because of the significantly lower weight and this level problem I have wertigere SVM so reluctantly sent back and keep the Pro, as some have already done here. Why the Pro costs almost 60 euros more and that too without "cat fur", however, is not conclusive. And yet it is the better acoustic microphone and now head I come in search of heritage use GH3 also no longer tuned. So, my opinion has changed now so still, even though I'm almost certain the elderly Stereo VideoMic would have survived me. During Pro I think that does not really ...
