Since I was quite happy with my 860 is, I decided now for the 1000HS. Normally, it is believed that the successor is "better", which is here but not the case: only improvement is the video function, everything else is bad: It takes longer, until finally, a photo shoot (snapshots are absolutely impossible ), the battery is quickly empty, the colors are sometimes very unnatural, photographs are often blurred or out, it is unwieldy and so on ... I really can not recommend!
