Have bought the Philips Bluetooth receiver to operate it at Nubert NuPro powered speakers and have decided extra for aptX version. Connection and pairing is in fact quite simple and hassle free. The sound quality but just disappointing. As I found out then, not only the recipient but also the sender, ie tablet or mobile phone aptX must support, which does not seem to be the case with all Apple devices. The sound quality is dermassend enttaueschend by the limited amount of data transfer Bluetooth that I have issued directly after a few test songs. I have an Apple Time Capsule Airport as a router running in the house, am not a big Apple fan, but have different products. I then decided to use an Airport Express and did not regret it. Absolutely brilliant. The Airport Utility will automatically detect the Airport Express as a wireless extension and per airplay I can now songs in top quality stream to the high-quality active speakers.
Airport Express is more expensive, because of the advanced features and the incredibly simple ingenious set up and use (a router in itself is) really worth every penny. Sometimes it pays just to invest some extra money.
The Philips Bluetooth Receiver is very suitable to record music to the plant on the patio in the summer or in the kitchen or bathroom to stream, just when it matters not auferstklassige quality.
