The theme song for the new Trek series is yes since the first showing a big bone of contention in the fandom - here you can hear him now in full length. It must be said that the idea of a song as an intro not is so bad, and the text fits quite well the content of the series, but unfortunately "Where My Heart Will Take Me" an incredibly average, shallow pop song at which one would change the radio channel immediately. One might here prove more courage and to take some elektronischeres or avant-garde. Well ... Dennis McCarthy delivers it finally something better job, his music to Broken Bow is much more inspired than the standard, which arose during his work on TNG, DS9 and VOY (the while is not bad, but it is in the nature of a television series that musically some repeatedly). Reason of course is the concept of the new series that will allow McCarthy to approach music more "our time" - unforgivable but the howling electric guitar in "Archer's Theme", which reminds too much of the '80s, as that they could convince for the 22nd century. To put it in a nutshell: even for fans of Star Trek music it is worth to own this CD, but you also missed not too much, if they did not.
