A great Extender for little money

Because we in our house for some time still had problems with the WiFi connection had (AVM router in the living room, equipment in the basement and on the 1st floor), the idea kept coming back to use a repeater. So far, we could not decide, either were on the market due to design too big, too expensive or technically in the known tests not so special.
When I got the opportunity to test the Netgear N300 Wireless EX2700-100PES range extender in the Essentials Edition, I have gladly accepted.

The packaging is made of stable and high-quality fibreboard, inside is an insert made of pressed, re-used paper, therein lies the Extrender. Enclosed is also a description in different languages.

The extender has me already really liked due to the size So far I know of no other that has such a small body. I have not I included two lateral antennas, might interfere with the one or the other, which has to decide any myself, but the external antennas have their advantages.
The guide is really well described. In basic the decor is simple and to accomplish through each.

There are two ways to set up:
- Configuration via WPS (the route must own a WPS button have)
This is the simplest means possible. For this, the WPS button is pressed after start-up of the Netgear repeater, then in short time interval the WPS button to press on the router, the devices connect. Since I have a Fritz AVM 7272 router, which is quite new and equipped with the latest software, I was pretty sure that it the easy way to install using WPS, works. In addition I have the Netgear Extender plugged in the same room in a wall outlet, where the router is. Then switch it on and wait until the Extender indicates by a green light, he is ready. Then I have the WPS button on the Extender. Now remain for 2 minutes then press the WPS button on the router and wait there remain 2 minutes. Shortly before this time has elapsed, the router at the WPS light flashes faster. After listening to the flash. It should after a successful facility that light glowing green WPS lamp. The was with me not so, because nothing lit up!
Something must have gone wrong. In addition I have then once more to put the instructions and repeats the process. Unfortunately suggested wrong this second process and the implementation and furnishing WPS did not work on the easy way out.

The software interface that is as simple in the German language and is itself explanatory really, I had gone through a period of 3 minutes and was done. Since we have several PCs on the first floor, the wifi strength at the individual PCs using software tools has been verified. Here now is a strength of> 90%, in some cases up to 97%. This is a peak value when you consider that the signal over a distance of approximately 4 meters by a concrete ceiling with lots of iron is sealed off right. In the basement I include wireless printer and a different PC, which is the signal strength of "excellent", things were not going as well.
The signal strength I have means of known WLAN controlled and monitored tool inSSIDer3 over two hours. The strength was consistent and balanced all the time.

My conclusion about this:
Here you can get a wireless repeater, which is really easy to set up and works demonstrably for under 25 euros. The signal strength from the UG to the first floor and in the open basement was very good and has improved the reception. Then there is the sensitive receiving handsets come in the tub area, how to get the newer Samsung smartphones, a better signal strength. For me, this extender is a real tip and gets 5 stars. For this price, you can hardly go wrong.
