"For Monkeys" is now the third board of the Swedish Skapunk combo Millencolin. The four boys have indeed left this time the horn section at home, but still sound more like sunny California as far north to cool. Less Ska, more "poppy pushy songs" there listening, just "Softcore", the self-assessment of the Quartet on the opening track "Puzzle". To feel-good music there are sometimes surprisingly thoughtful lyrics: The Singing bassist Ni kola tells of "Lowlife" and muses: "I'm 22, so far away for all my dreams." But would not Millencolin Millencolin, they would now sink into deep depression. "For twelve years I've been down, but I'm not whining, I'm still smiling" () is sort of the theme of the CD. Mind-bending performance, Schrammel guitar, and the "Monkey Boogie" even comes the good old Hammond organ used - what more could you want? (This is an Amazon.com at the university-student review.)
