Suboptimal at the price

I photograph for a long time even with different models and brands, Nikon, Canon Pentax Olympus.
Each brand has its specific advantages and disadvantages. currently I use a Pentax K5, Nikon D3 (in England for about 2300, - get new 2 years ago) and the Oly E5 (for testing purposes).
This is already to go back next week to Amazon.
Reasons for this are:
1) Poor value for money (for the price with the necessary power you get a FF Cam like the Nikon D700 or 5D MK II)
2) image quality up to ISO 800 good to very good, from the Quali then drops enormously from. Texture loss is not so high
3) dynamic range below average bad compared to the D7000 or K5 or d3
4) Due to the limited Sensorfomat worse Freistelungsmöglichkeiten especially for portraits. For more tele or (detail) which can also be an advantage
5) the JPEG may be the best, I only shoot in RAW because of the higher Dynamiumfangs.

Neutral:
AF good, but not outstanding, keeps with the K5 good with, but improvement for E3. Comparisons with the same lenses from Sigma give an impression about (no laboratory values)
Sensor cleaning is not so important to me, who else and works fine, maybe not quite as good or effective. Make 3 times a year a wet cleaning
Housing quality is apparently trying always revalue metals (magnesium alloy .....), generally offers plastic and high strength, but who wants to play with a plastic camera.
I do not care, but for many it's prestige. Nikon D300s This also K5, for me no knock-out criterion

Positive aspects.
Lenses very expensive but also very good! just bring me nothing, because in Highiso the cam does not cooperate.
For normal situations in the area where light is present plays the iso not matter. For lovers a must
Anti Shake in the body (for me one of the gößten benefits, Pentax plays there with the only!
Sealing and feel are very good. Monitor also very good.
Jpeg is good but against Raw no chance.
Very good color brilliance

In itself a nice camera for people who take a lot during the day and do not do a lot of concert photography or Lowlightfotografie, but you know as an Olympic athlete certainly
You have to decide for themselves whether to about 2000, - wants to spend with battery grip for the camera.
I see this more in 1000, - the area, where they would certainly also competitive (K5 / D300 / D7000 etc)

This is an honest opinion. Pentax has very strong deficiencies in the objective area.

Now you can keep my mind useless or not, but not everything is the cost is also good!
The part is not bad, but not competitive at the price. Otherwise a nice camera, with which I would have been happy, if not the dynamic range would have been so Gerin and the noise performance would have been better.

I am absolutely not brand loyal, like trying out something new.
I have only !!!!! the results important, good for 1000 - I would keep them.

Just FYI, I have an Olympus Compact and am very happy, so sometimes the trip to DSLR
