- PC with USB 3.0 ports
- "Kingston Media Reader FCR-HS3 USB 3.0 Card Reader" (very good and reasonably priced)
- Test program ATTO (Freeware)
The test program writes and reads data blocks, which are from 0.5 KB to 8192 KB widening. In both types of memory, the maximum Tranferrate is achieved from a data block size of 64 Kbytes. These maximum transfer rates are:
1) "SanDisk Extreme SDHC 32GB 30MB / s":
Be greater than 20.8 MB / s
Read greater than 23.5 MB / s
2) "SanDisk Extreme SDHC 32GB 45MB / s" (3 SD cards tested):
Be greater than 42.0 MB / s
Read greater than 45.7 MB / s
The version "30MB / s" has therefore concluded disappointing (3 stars). The version "45MB / s" has completed hervorrragend (5 Stars). Some of the bad reviews for the version "45MB / s" I therefore do not understand. Both types of cards are used by me, incidentally, with the Olympus OM-D and the Nikon D90. As always, the UHS mode of "45MB / s" version must also be supported by the target device to take advantage of the full performance.
I hope that I can help some with the review.
