From his prolonged for 50 years career Morrison has chosen 16 songs that have already appeared on other albums and this re-recorded as duets. Young and old gathered to pay their respects and to sing with him, "Van the Man". Now that's very good, sometimes less well done. He has taken part at the request of his Duetpartner, one reason why more lesser-known pieces are listening to the song selection. But Morrison has never sheared to any tastes and pulled his thing so well here. It has become a nice album where again find the familiar styles that Van Morrison has always been used, ie folk, soul, blues and rock music with jazz influences. There are some great songs here such as "Rough God Goes Riding" with his daughter Shana. My personal Higlight is the duet "Fire in the Belly" with Steve Winwood, who operates the Hammond organ here. Winwood rough deep voice blends here perfectly with Van. The song also has a nice Bläserarragement. Toll is also the song with Mark and Mick Hucknall Knoplfler. For me one of the better albums Van the last 15 years, despite the rather unknown songs provides a consistently high quality. The sound and mix of the album is top notch, as was actually to be expected of Van Morrison productions. Do not know yet the listener Van Morrison's music I would advise rather to classics such as "Moon Dance" or "Common One". Who "Van the Man" knows, can not go wrong a lot, he has here beautiful new duet versions of his songs. Mir gefällts!
